Have you been there before?I have and liked it.Some people say it is lame but if want to ride nice trails it's fun.A enduro bike would be a blast. The camping areas look nice, primative.I am going this summer around June, maybe one other time. One thing that fools you is the trails are longer than you think. That throws alot of people off.

If you do plan something please look into Rules for the rest of us....3wheelers need insurance, tags ect? Last time I went with a 3wheeler it did not need insurance(8yrs ago). Weekend pass prices and the usual local directions for the out of towners, would be welcomed. Are you thinking of camping near Pigs Ear? I've been there and Rocky Gap many times...the last few times have just been the dirtbike. I didn't inquire about ATC's at the time. Keep us posted.

Yeah, if you click the link, there are sections that spell out requirements... I had planned on registering anyway. I have never been there, it's almost 2 hours away from me... my brother sent me the link and it looked cool. PA ATV laws: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/atv/ATVBrochure.pdf

My buddies have ridden there many times and say it is a blast. ATV trails might be kind of lame, but the dirt bike trails are great.
They do require registration and proof of insurance. Not sure how they would apply the PA registration requirement to you Ohio and NY people.

Pa. does honor other states registration. You need insurance and a valid registration and a pass. You can get day passes,or annual.Think it was $10 a day.The bike trail Rocky Gap is open to ATVs,that was fun.I live 5 1/2 hours away and am going again.

If you look on the DCNR site it lists what states' registrations PA recognizes in the ATV section. You do not need to be a resident of PA to get a PA reggie on your machine so you out of staters should be OK. I would guess you could do the registration by mail but I don't know.

there are a bunch of privatly owned places to ride in PA. They are better and you dont have to have all the pa registration. The state has enough money.

If you go to Rocky Gap...(which is 20mins over the mountian from Allegheny Nat main trailhead) a cool place to Camp/hang in the woods off the trail is located to the South off a gaswell fire road/park road. When you enter off the main road and travel up the winding road toward the entrance. You come to a stop sign and there is a T shape intersection. Disregard the sign that indicates the Main parking lot to left...GO RIGHT travel down the country road maybe a mile or less. LOOK for a Large light brown&white steel building/garage...on your left across the road from the building is the fire road. It's the frist dirt road on you left after you make the turn away from main lot. Go deep into the woods until you reach the trail...You'll see a yellow sign with a dirtbike take the gaswell drive up to the right go all the way back to the pumps past the frist pump/clearing...pleanty of room to turn a trailer+camper arround NO PROBLEM. If you want to camp at the ROCKS keep giong down the road passed trail...We camped every year back there for 5+yrs with No real hassle, lots of good wood, quiet, great entry point 1/2 way on the ATV trail side...Rangers can't sneak up on you either, you always see em coming down the well drive. We freaked em out one year we had over 100 people camping and riding back there on Memorial Weekend 2005.
