3. Yamaha Blaster
4. Kawasaki Mojave
5. Honda Recon
6. Suzuki LT80
7. Yamaha Banshee
8. Yamaha Warrior

The 400EX IS the best wheelie machine hands down. LMAO...they have the LT80 on there but no Raptor...WTF?? :D Raptors are a pretty good wheelie machine...but nothing can touch a Honda

I havent ridden a 400ex but have ridden a raptor and they do wheelies almost as easy as my 350x.

I've ridden a 250ex and it does a wheelie pretty freakin easy! and also a yamaha 175 tri-moto. :D

dirtwheels did that test before the raptor even came out on the scene, i'm glad they put the banshee on there its one of the easiest to wheelie, i ride my friend's banshee at 12 o'clock all the time until it starts going to the side, but the 400ex is the number one quad to wheelie, hands down! :D

i usually do them at the drag strip, when those tires get heated no matter how much tread is on them they will grip like he*l

My KFX 400 rides awsome wheelies. I can ride a good hundred yards or so uphill in the sand where we ride. It is all stock except for a set of Kenda Geckos on the rear.

My vote goes to the Blaster hands down. Maybe because I was too heavy for mine, but it would pull wheelies right through 6th gear.

225 DX 3 wheeler will out ride a wheelie to all of those anyday... hands down.

Dont believe me, come ride with me sometime.

The bayou shouldnt even be on there. I can't ever do wheelies with one. You have to go in reverse and dump it into 1st for it to wheelie. It will not do a flat out wheelie.

Raptor is the best wheelie quad stock for stock, The Raptor a 400ex are close, Raptor is a heavy SOB, and the 400ex is lighter than the Raptor. you can wheelie easy on a Raptor in 3rd gear, hard to keep the front down just in first. I own a Raptor and I have ridden other quads. A lot of people bash the Raptor but stock for stock the Raptor will Kill 95% of bikes out there. This is coming from a Honda and a 250r man, My 85 250r will kill my Raptor. But the Raptor is a great machine and the only few quads that are in its compitition is the Quadzilla, YZF450, DS 650, and when the CRF450 quad comes out.

I think the Raptor is just a little bit easier to get up, but the 400EX is definately the easiest to keep up for long periods of time. ATC250R's are also some of the best wheeliers. And I would take my Foreman anyday for reverse wheelies :D I've got pics too....when they are developed I will post them.

my trx 90 seems to be my favorite 4wheeler of all time, it can wheelie pretty far....but i gotta see the foreman doing reverse wheelies

400ex is the wheelie king no matter what anybody else says I can ride wheelies on that thing forever.

I rode a 250ex and I can ride a wheelie on that thing for a good mile. Them things are bad ass. And wtf why is the recon up there?

the recon is almost the same thing as the 250ex, 250ex has sport plastics, recon has utility plastics, if you could do wheelies on a 250ex for a mile you couls do the same on a recon.

Then I hopped on the raptor. He has a raptor and oh boy I can ride a wheelie on that thing too. Just shift right through the gears! I even spun the tires trying to do a wheelie on the road
Huh I never knew that. I guess you do learn somthing new every day :D

My brothers 372X would wheelie all day long in any gear...Very easy and very fun.

Every machine has a balance point, finding it and keeping it there is the hard part.

AirManCam
10-02-2003, 08:40 PM
Its not that hard to find the balance point on them. I found it on every thing I have ever rode. Even some crotch rockets :D

My favorite wheelie machine would have to be my old 250sx trike. With the shaft drive and 200x front end I had on it, I could ride wheelies till the cows came home. It was a pretty trick bike it had hydraulic front disc and all.

Thank you very much. I've been riding barely a year and a half and I learned wheelies on my DX in like 2 months only because I would jump instead of trying wheelies (too afraid) but now that's all I do. So cut down all the fear of tipping over (which is friggin' hard with the rack on the back.) I learned wheelies in like a day. DX's are the BEST. :TrikesOwn

I think this list is about bikes that have a good balance point (can be wheelied far) more that bikes that can come up easy.
The Recon/250EX are nuts to wheelie. my step brother can wheelie his from 1st to 5th.
The reason the recon is up there and not the 250Ex I think is because you can get a recon with electric shift and is easyier to shift while doing a wheelie than a foot shift.

the 250ex isnt up there because that list came out before the 250ex did.

I have a 300ex and I think it does OK wheelies.....I've ridden 400ex's and they are a little better, but nothing spectacular. Besides they only wheelie when you want them to. My R wheelies whether I want it to or not! lol

WTF is a recon or bayou doing on there? I wonder why the 250r quad isnt on there or the 230 quad sport. And if we are talkin best whelie machines then the 250sx. tighten up the clutch on it and you can pull 3rd gear wheelies all day. If you dont believe me ask atvnut. I did a nice one for him and his son.

I agree 400EX is on top. Easy to pull the front end up in 5th gear at 65mph + and ride for miles. I think it's acutally easier on a 450R though, you can go faster too, I haven't tried too much on a YFZ450 but I can do it half way decent on those too.

my friends little brother has a bayou w a couple of mods, you could smash the throttle and lean all the way back and the tires dont even come up. the 230 quadsport should definately be on their. there so light! i rode a lightly modded 230 tht hits 57, and that thing wheelies just as good as a 300ex, if not better.

lol almost too light. My friend just rebuilt his and had it running for like an hour after rebuild so I took it up my grandparents driveway hit the gas and fell right on my ass. lol I slid 6 or 7 feet up hill!

EDIT: On my asre that is

WTF? The Banshee? A wheelie machine? Maybe if you manhandle it like hell with superhuge sand tires in wet sand...

While everyone is adding their favorite machines to this list, I may as well put my $.02 in too. My Kawasaki Tecate4 is fine for wheelies too.

This has got be be one of the most ridiculous topics for a TOP Ten list. You can add anything to this list....

This thread is useless without :pics:

Ive ridden a banshee, 300ex, blaster, lt 185, big bear, bear tracker ect

Blaster -was great for wheelies
Banshee- just spun
300ex -was o.k
lt 185 - was actually pretty good at wheelies
bear tracker- could do it
big bear- good luck

Some of the stuff they have on the list should be taken off. lt80? But no LT250r or tecate or trx250r? No raptor? What about the yfz450 and the trx450r? How old is that list?

oh shlit,i forgot we were talking bout quads,i would say the predator 500,i could pull it up any gear and control it woth just the throttle and engine braking, never even had ti hit the rear brake it was so balanced

The Raptor has to take #1 in my book for wheelies. My raptor just pulls them too easy and i hated it with its rock hard suspension and its top heavyness. But when i put a lowering kit on both front and back i cant get it to wheelie unless i stand up and pull back. The hole shot improved drastically though.

400ex defiently #1 all honda's are good for wheelies look at the engine position in the 400ex it is towards the back of the frame, the front is very light, i am suprised the z400 isnt on there i hear they are real easy to wheelie

Couple of good ones left off. Quadzilla 500 wheelies even if you don't want to. The best controlled wheelie quad I ever tried was a 1987 honda 250x it would go for miles in ist gear.
