well i got that new china carb and it didnt work like i expected.
i had the old one on that was leaking from somewhere.
turns out the rubber tube that connects from the carb to the jug had a little hole in it but the old carb had to be leaking cause it only leaked when the bike was idling on the new carb but when i had the old one on i could turn the old carb on and it would spill gas everywhere.
with the new one on i had to hold the throttle on a long time then start it and it would fore for about 10 seconds and i pulled the spark plug out and it had spark and the plug was black and dry(not wet) i cleaned it and tried to start it again but nothing but a 5 second idle.
so i decided to take it in to the shed and clean the airbox and after that i took apart the carb and it was fine so i took the rubber tube off that had the little hole in it and put a backup one on it(it had a little corrosion so i wiped through it with a rag
then i put it on.
and put everything back together and made sure everything was on right then i tried starting it and it wouldent start with choke on or off or even half way.
i sprayed starting fluid into the airbox and it wouldnt start.
then i took off the exhaust and there was i very small hole in the pipe and it is rusted everywhere.
i went out and grabbed a stock pipe and tried it and it had a lot less compression to it.

THIS SUCKS.

NEW PLUG. Cleaning plugs is marginal at very best. They are about 2 bucks... Buy a few spares as well.

Check under the tank where the coil is mounted to the frame for corrosion. I had mine get pretty nasty from sitting. It made the spark weak and that is no good on a 200X. They are a pain to start even when everything is right.

I find that traps sand in the plug and sooner or later it lets loose. I use to do it for my buds KX250 (He fouled 3 plugs a ride - jetting issue but he's a stubborn fark) but then I told him that even 1 grain of that silica sand wasn't good for the crank etc - unless it just blows right out the exhaust, but who knows where it goes??
