I have my motor, but is there any telltale signs it is a KXT and not a KX or KDX? it says KX (sounds retarded, but want to be 100% sure)on the side, but are there any other ways that make them distinctive from the rest? its going in an 84 so no powervalve system. any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

not without taking it apart. The exhaust port could give you some clue. They all say KX on the motors

the kickout or the shape? it comes out at an angle to clear the cradle the port seems somewhat oval shaped.

An 83-84 KX cylinder has a split exhaust port like in this picture

The KXT cylinder is just a round exhaust port.
There is actually an 83-84 KX or Tecate motor with KX cylinder on Ebay. I don't think the seller knows what it is.

I don't have the money or I'd be keeping this one to myself :naughty:

ok, my fears have been confirmed. Its a KXT. I was really hoping for a KX cylinder for a hopup, but whatever, I am just glad I have a good motor. all gears and clutches look very good, it has Barnett Dirt Diggers on it.
