ok so i just got the bike and i have to do a valve adj. any info on how to do so? i know the 85 and older style has the cover u take off the top and theres trailprotrailpro adjustment screws and nuts. and also i want to put a Stage 3 Xccelerator but it shows it only for (83-85) does it fit the 86-87? is there any mods needed to make it fit like stock? and last i need the head light plastic mines is cracked any help on this is much appreciated

to do a valve adjustment you have to take off the valve covers and then turn the motor over till your on the compression stroke and stick the right size feeler gauge in between the rocker and valve i dont know the valve specs right off hand but thats pretty much how its done

good luck with the headlight asembly, mine is like a jigsaw puzzle, and its gonna stay that way for awhile they r pricey!

to do a valve adjustment you have to take off the valve covers and then turn the motor over till your on the compression stroke and stick the right size feeler gauge in between the rocker and valve i dont know the valve specs right off hand but thats pretty much how its done
well i now that much but the 86-87 is different from the older models. its not the basic 10mm nut and a flat ajusment screw. my uncle saw and wasnt sure because hes always had the older model 200x

There are NO vale covers on an 86/87 200X. You have a side cover with 2 eccentric shafts. You move them one way, line up a notch and that the .003 or whatever it wants.
Download or buy the manual, I can't contribute to the destruction of trikes due to lack of initiation :lol:
BUT, I help LOTS once you get and read that!!
They are by far the easiest valves to adjust along with many upgrades that I feel the 350X would have seen in later years. Maybe not though as the Foreman?? (or similar) and other quads shared that same engine.........

i see them periodicaly on ebay not sure where prob just search under honda atc 200x for best search results plastic and light both ive seen 150 to 250 bucks that was the buy it now, mines getting black zip ties to resemble stitches to keep the haggrd look

so dirtcrasher whats a good price to pay for a west coast swinger? btw to change my timing chain do dig deep in the case or can i get it thru the clutch cover?
