What can you guys tell me about the 250R I may get?

Hello

I'm getting a 250R tomorrow, needs a piston. Only $200 so I will definitely take it.

Anyways, I was told it's either an 82 or 83. From what I've read, this is an older/first generation air cooled as opposed to later model liquid cooled ones, correct?

Anything else I should know? Are the liquid cooled ones better and any must-have upgrades?

Yes, if it is air cooled it is one of the 1st or 2nd generations. The 82 had disc brakes front and rear with a fat front tire. The 83 has a skinny front tire and better suspension. For $200 I'd say grab it.

pretty sure there was a pretty big hp jump from air to liquid cooled.... just checked the brochure page it says 40% more hp in 85 with liquid cooled than 84 "air fooler" still an r though go for it!

Hmm hopefully I can upgrade it then or I hope it will still be a substantial difference from my 200s

Assuming tats all thats wrong with it, that would be great. But chances are the mains and the rod are out of spec, but you never know. Got pics of it?
