Their was no oring in these rims. They are off a 83 atc 110. I was wondering what is supposed to be sealing the rims? Will an application of silicone seal them?

Some one told me 90 weight roofing paper works good but I didnt try it LOL . The best way is to just buy the correct O rings and do it right . Silicone is messy when you try and take it apart another day .

The rim is different then the 3 bolt rim. The ring land is right on the edge of the inner cone. It doesn't look like a o ring should go there.

Thats were the O-rings go and their a pain in the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro if your not carefull when bolting them up . If you have some roofing paper around try that .

Seal them with a MIG bead and use them as a 1-piece. I hated 2-piece wheels in the 80s and I hate them now...

I'd MIG them too!
Or use silicone. A nice small SS wire brush and lacquer thinner cleans the old silicone off of it spotless.
If the o-ring is available, I would try that 1st though....................Use some O-ring grease on there! and make sure the cavity is spotless and free of pitting, that's why guys use silicone, to cover the imperfections.......

100% best way to seal them................use tubes.

On the three bolt rims I used an o ring and 100% silicone and let it sit out in the sun for a day before I aired up the tire. That worked well.
At ace hardware they have thicker o rings. I will have to bring a rim in and see if their is something close. If not then I'm going to run tubes.

never thought of MIGing them. i used engine gasket reasealer which is basically stiff silicone and it holds good. anyone know where to get different hubs for different bolts patterns?

Love that MIG them idea... If I had a set, I would be out in the garage welding them up right now....

Tubes are awesome... you can run super low pressure, which is nice on the unsuspended models, without breaking beads

I thought the lips were too large to slip over, hence the two piece design?

Why cant you weld the seam, inner and out like they are on new ALUM wheels, seams like a better solotion to me.

you can get any tire bead over any rim with the right equipment. a last resort is taking it to a tire shop.
