anothern dumb ? question

so i finally got my carb and petcock squared away for next weekends riding trip, so i started putting it all back together, started and idled fine, then i put the airbox and filter back on and now nothing ? i didnt have time to look into the prob before work , maybe the wiring by the air box? something disconnected ? what the hay did i do now ? why did it start w out the filter but not with it, any advice is greatly megappreciated :wondering

Is the filter really clogged? Or a loose connection, only things it could be.

thanks for the reply, its a little embarising but ya the filter element is all i have no foam, and the previous owner must not have believed in the foam cuz it hasnt had foam for quite awhile the element is rusted i have a filter on order but does that come with the element or just the foam ? if not where can i find the element ?

Don't know what kinda of element you ordered. Just get a Uni. But if its just the metal type that foam goes around it shouldn't be clogged. Or is it paper and metal that the foam goes around?

uni is what i ordered and its just the metal element that the foam goes around is what i have i am afraid of rust breaking loose and working into the engine? thanks alot man inreally appreciate your help !
