my 1980 ytm 125 i think overheats or something of that nature because youll be driving along and then all of a sudden it will die, or when you star to slow down it will die, then you take the fenders off and i looked at the head and there is either smoke or steam (80 degree weather so i think its smoke) comming from the top end. from the looks of it the head gasket needs to be replaced because there is oil around that area. also when it does run right before the point it shuts off (3 minutes before) you hear it pinging all the time. once it cools down it starts right back up then it runs fine untill it gets warm again. i even took the plastic off around the gas tank to keep it cooler but it still happens. what could be causing this as it is air cooled? thanks (im also mixing the gas so it cant be not getting oil)

nevermind, checked compression and its about 90, checked it two weeks ago and it was 135 so i think maybe just head gasket? pulling head now :D
