78 model points and condenser rebuilt engine Engine ran good untill my son stripped everything down to paint Since then it will not fire I can hold the spark plug wire and it will shock me but will not fire the plug It has new points and condenser I need help like a very easy to read diagram or someone explaining exactly how everything is connected We have no lights on the bike all has been taken off

did you scrape all the paint off the coil mounts and all the grounds?

Make sure the points are gapped correctly. They need to just be opening on the F mark. You still can get weak pulse not enough to jump the plug if the points are not gapped correctly.
