86 200sx engie noise

hello i have a 86 200sx 4 wheeler im hearing a slapping sound from the right side of the motor but only when i blip the throttle off idle. i thought it was the cam chain so i tore it down and the chain seems tight but the oil pump chain seems really loose could that be it or is it something else

its prob the cam chain, my xr200 is doing the exact same thing, i put my ear to the motor and its the cam chain, but it didnt do before i did the top end.

well i thought it was the cam chain too but there's no slack in it. i guess that could still be it

same here, ive about had it so mines going to a dealer.

well ive already got everything to replace the cam chain. i guess i'll get a oil pump chain too while its apart and hope that fixes it

ALL those oil pump chains are loose...... Even new ones!

You have to have that thin side cover next to it or it can come off and probably smacks the right case and makes noise.

ya ive heard those oil pump chains are loose. and that thin piece of metal was in place so who knows
