well i bought one yesterday for 200 bucks. the guy said it needed a carb cleaning. it took about a minute to start and ran fine but bogged and then after a while it just flooded itself out and i couldnt get it started. i took the carb apart and cleaned it and now i cant figure out where these two lines go and gas just pours out of the holes by where it sucks in air. i can get pics if that helps... any ideas what im doing wrong?

Gas flowing out of the carb means its time to take it back apart. You could have a problem with the float, or have it installed backwards, or the nedle and seat could be badly worn. Pics would help, as I dont know what hoses you are talking about. Take it back apart and start from there.

well i found out it was the needle valve. it was missing the thing that plugs it when the float goes up and down (not sure of the name). so i drilled it out the valve and took the part im missing out of my lawn mower and it worked OK, just bogged and its getting way to much gas at idle. its $60 brand new and to be honest i was looking to buy used, but i cant even find a carb on ebay. i see you have a 81 tri moto parts bike, any chance you got a carb or even the needle valve for sale?

New guy here....I would like to thank everyone for making this site what it is, I have found it very useful the last week. Anyway, I just bought an 82 yamaha yt125 that looks like the one I owned when I was a kid. So far...I have been able to free up the carbon stuck piston rings and was able to get it going with starter fluid. But, it dies when the fluid burns up. I have already taken the carb apart and cleaned it, but I have having trouble finding the proper adjustments for the mixture screws and internal pilot within the float body. Can anyone help? Also, can someone please identify the ports on the attached picture? I think I know which one is gas and oil injection....but there are a few more I am not sure of. Anyhelp is appreciated. http://img718.imageshack.us/i/may220001.jpg/ http://img696.imageshack.us/i/may220002.jpg/

Looks like I'm having a simular problem...trike runs fine IF I can get it started. Takes a shot of ether when its cold then it runs fine I think there may be some carb hoses either not hooked up right or not at all.

I've got a carb for the 80-81 tri moto, work great - i just upgraded the 1 on mine to my old YT175 carb.

It needs an air screw+sprint, but thats it. I could let it go for $25 shipped if your in the US.
