So I finally get to work on my recently purchased 110. I drained the oil, removed the right crankcase in order to clean the oil screen/filter.

Now here's my issue. To put the crankcase cover back on, the clutch ball retainer (see pic below ....piece I'm holding) will not stay in place -- will just fall off when I let go of it.

So I figured I will just put the clutch ball retainer inside the crankcase (see pic below) and install the cover. However I'm not certain that its seated properly when the cover is on since obviously I can not see it anymore. THe cover fits fine its just difficult to tell if its installed properly.

Any thoughts or ideas on how to make this work? What am I doing wrong here? Please advise. thanks

Lean the atc over on its side as gravity is a pain when installing those covers or if you have some axle grease , that will hold it in place long enough to put it back together .
