I know it doesn't really look like I just spent 3 grand on it and am gonna get razed about it but $2300 of that was to have the engine professionally rebuilt ( I'm not all that handy, pretty much just cosmetic stuff for me) The rest was for new maier fenders seat and some other small stuff. Its the first time I have used power reeds and i can really tell that they make a difference. I have another 84R that has never had the motor apart and completely original and they don't sound or feel anything alike, which i found surprising. I still have some work to do on it but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Does anyone have any ideas to stop the kick starter from hitting my new Maiers and making scuff marks? Thanks

Ya they had to replace everything in the engine rod, piston, rings so it basically a whole new engine. Do the reeds change the sound of the engine because it sounds so different then the stock R, like more high pitched or crackly

Nice aircooler! Building an engine properly requires lots of money. And doing it right the 1st time always saves lots of time, money and frustration in the end. Hope you enjoy your ride as much as i enjoy my crispy 250's........

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Just thought I would let everyone know that I went out and fixed the decals, they came off and went back on no problems. And no I'm pretty sure the exhaust is stock but i could be wrong, it puts out perfect little smoke rings while the 84R does not, not sure why.

^^^what he said^^^

BTW Tell me about these "smoke rings" from your exhaust, I have never seen this phenomena from a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke single, even when it's cold outside. I would love to see some pics of that.

Looks good..
For the kick starter hitting on the plastics and leaving scuff marks you could get a roll of clear contact stuff like the stuff they use for covering school books with and just put a piece of it where it hits, thats what I did with the white rear plastics on my 83R.

for the scuff marks from the fender check your local sk8 shop or go to ccs.com . they have clear plastic sheets to stick on the bottom of sk8boards to protect the design , might work for ya

Thanks for the comment guys. I will defiantly check into that skateboard tape you mentioned, clear shipping tape may also work. As for the smoke rings i will try to snap a pic of it, i have never seen it before either its pretty neat.
