ATC 110 wiring question

hey guys so i was thinking since i'm not using a headlight i have a extra green and a yellow wire that dont go to nothing , could that be my problem on why i'm not getting a spark? do the green and yellow have to be attached to something if i'm bypassing them?

I'm not an electrician either, but I would say no, you wouldn't want them connected. The bulb doesn't complete a circuit if it is burned out or not turned on. However, if they are grounding out, that may cause a problem.

from what ive seen it might have to be. some one on another persons post said that on the 110 the head light needs to be in the ON position for the bike to fire, so this may be causing your problem. i would go to like walmart, pick up a nice cheap head light or pair of fog head lights and wire it and mount it. not only will it look cool and nice to have a nice headlight on there it is also nice to have just in case. it is a start as something to try and can only benefit you.

The lighting coil wires have nothing to do with the spark of the motor . If your going to install a new light just be sure to buy somthing in 12v if its a CDI trike or 6 volts for a points model trike and as close to 45 watts as possible other wise a smaller wattage bulb will burn up very quickly .

i run mine with no light with the wires just chilling doing nothing. on mine (1984) the lighting system and spark system are completely separate.

I did this with my 200x. They work great and are super bright. Like said make sure your voltages are correct or you'll be replacing parts.

Correct that it's not needed. I ran mine without a headlight after my buddy flipped and bent it up real bad.

Actually none of my bikes have headlights except my 250r.

I had one that wasn't getting spark, the pulse generator (front of engine, left side from sitting on it, has a cover that says 'CDI' on cdi models) wire was crushed by the engine mount bolt. Replaced it and it was fine.

Either that or the coil or regulator, possibly stator. Should be all there is to the 110 wiring, unless you are not grounded (green wire at the coil, may want to clean the connection there) or you're switch is grounding in the 'off' position.

ok so from what i read the yellow wire that goes to the headlight doesn't make a difference if it's hooked up or not the "hot wire" is the black right
