Where can i get a direct bolt, motor for a 1984 200x (preferably new)

Doubt you will find one new, but you can use an XR200 dirtbike engine 81-83 or 86-2002 but need the kickstarter gears/spring from the 200x to not hit the plastics.

Or the 200 / 185 and 185s/200s, as well as most if not all other 200 chain drive models will fit. (Some may need room for their elec starter)

People usually do that for an automatic 200x

Lifan makes a bolt in. One of us Michigan guys has it, pretty sure its HarryRedTrike. Sounds like they are pretty decent.

any crf230 will bolt in, ive got one in my 200x and it works great

Is the CRF230 a direct bolt in? Does that have e-start? Does the kicker hit the fenders? That would be a nice swap. And what year CRF230?

any year 230 will work, and yes it is e start with no kick start, it sucks but if u want a kickstart you can put your crank and complete top end on a 03-06 crf150 bottom end. but i just put the battery on the back of my air box and so far no problems. also you must your the crf harness and a xr200 carb and manifold

I am thinking of doing the same but 650 shipped to my door! i should be able to find a rebuild for that price. they claim 17 hp @8500rpm
