View Full Version : Where to get piston rings, XR 200 / 200x?

I got my xr200 engine apart, piston rings were letting oil by. Cylinder walls look real good, no need for hone/bore (may hone it as a precaution).

Using a mic in a few spots, it looks to be 2.57900 in = 65.5066 millimeters. Stock size was 65.5mm, so that works good. (I guess .06 or less is good / within tolerance; I'm only .01 or less away)

Where can I get honda rings? I was told wiseco rings won't work, and my piston is a honda one. Maybe an oversized kit for the X will work? (65mm stock?)

Also for a head gasket, will any ATC 200 one work, even if the cylinders are slightly different? I'd use a 200s or even re-use the XR as it slid off complete without issue.

Thanks

EDIT: None I saw on ebay, or oversized X ones. However a google search came up with this:

http://bore-tech.com/catalog/pistonringset15mm-p-265.html?osCsid=f3b3c78607ab01dd2c0d200792b59ba3\

For the Honda CB and CL 350's, not sure what a 3 piece oil ring means? But if it's a honda piston and the same size, theoretically it would work, right? Or maybe the stroke has some effect?

Does servicehonda have them? not sure if all the years of the xr200 would be the same or not.

All years look to be the same from 81-2002 except 1984/85 models.
