Ok so I down loaded the manual and have everything apart on the rear axle. I removed the seals but my question now is can I drive both bearings and spacer through one side or do I need to try and remove by pounding a drift from either side through the carrier? I have tried to do this and their pretty stuck. So I tried heating up the carrier on the sprocket side with propane with still no luck. I tried the search but I couldnt find much on the subject related to this model since I belive the carrier is steel and not aluminum.
Thanks for your time,
Jason

The bearings come out their respective sides.

TTT any ideas on getting them out? They have to be original and were VERY crunchy. I might be able to get a slide hammer type bearing remover from a neighbor and it has a hook on the end to grab the back of the bearing.

I usually use a punch and hammer them out from the other side. You could also try letting it sit a while with some penetrating of some sort to help break down the build up.
I usually have more problems getting the axle nuts off then the bearings out

I just pulled the bearings out of my '82 BR last week and that is what I used. Worked great! Also, if possible, leave the bearing carrier in the frame. Holding on to the bearing carrier while slider hammering stuff doesn't work too well.
