I found a big red and the guy says it has a 350CC big bore kit. Did these even exist?

Thanks.

EDIT - Called. He now says it's a "350R" by what it says on the handlebars. but it's a four stroke with elec. start and kick starter.

Not an R. Possibly a 250ES? Did they have kickstarters? He said it has racks on it, so I doubt a 350x or 250SX. No pics either.

I will look at it tonight or tomorrow, how can I 100% identify that it's a 250es and not a 200? I'd like a late model big red, and won't be able to run the vin while looking at it.

If it has a back shock its at least an 85. It should be shaft drive as well

Alright. I assume the earlier 200 (e, es) models were similar but no rear shocks?

If it has one that looks stock, then it must be a 200x, 350x, 250r, 250es, correct? Only models with rear shocks. They should be fairly easy to tell apart, especially now that you cleared that up with the rear shock detail. Thanks !!!

Edit - he said no battery, but it has an electric starter. This means it's not an R, 350x or 200x (unless Goki or custom added starter). Must be 250es or 250sx with rear shock + electric start.

Just hoping it's not just a 125m or 200m or something like that when I drive to see it. I hate not having pictures.

Largest Big Bore I have found for my 250ES would bump the displacemnt to 320... And that was a pretty radical kit. It may have a trx 300 motor in it, and been bored from there...

If its real, it will be really interesting to say the least. Yes the earlier models were similar, and to the untrained eye they look the same as the 250's but the rear shock is a dead giveaway.

Called back, it's a 250ES I believe. Says it has/had reverse (No longer works, I'm hoping I can fix it) elex. starter, keyed ignition, and racks. Mono rear shock.

Rear plastics supposedly aren't cracked and it's supposedly in good shape. Not bad for $400 I think. Needs battery for e-start and carb cleaning.

He says he called it a 350 as it says it on the chassis? Either someone modded the hell out of a 350x frame, or a wrong sticker.

If it is a 250ES and runs and drives, and isnt too beat to crap, its easy worth the 400... I paid 475 for mine, and it was a turd!

The #1 most important thing is the wall thickness of the liner when all is said and done with oversized pistons and increased compression (IMNHO, temperature and pressure go hand in hand!) , albeit it the 350X big bore kits soon available or any other. These air cooled bikes need room to grow!!

And how many bores left over (after the new liner) is important to all of us............... OEM gives us what? 6 overbores? I'm still stock bore-wise on ALL my 350X motors..........

I want some year or so reports on the 350X Sprock big bore kit...........................
