When I switched from glasses to contact I felt the same way, but no one but me noticed the "raccoon" eyes so I think your friends will be shocked, not because of the way your eyes look to you, but because they've never seen you without glasses. I don't have any suggestions to make them get used to you without your glasses (I got the I can't believe you don't have glasses speech for about 2 weeks before it got old), but eventually it'll be like you never wore glasses.
