These aluminum plates are worn and cooked - not blue though. The fibers look fine and measure up fine per the manual specs. Can I just replace the aluminum plates and not be shortcutting it? 250R

try it and find out, you can buy the plates individually from your local dealer, but not through mail order

are they warped dirtcrasher ? i used a small peice of glass to check if the plates are warped, if they layed flat,,, i called em good and would use corse sand paper to re-rough them back up. some folks and books tell you to rub them on a concrete floor to rough up.

The guys at my local Honda shop just replace what ever is bad if the rest of the clutch parts meet specifications. I would only replace the bad parts.

If the fibers are okay, and the metal ones are not, the metal ones were bad, when the fibers were last changed. Id replace the metals, keep the fibers if in spec, but change the springs since whoever did the last clutch job didnt know how to check the metal ones, so probably only replaced the fibers. Springs are inexpensive, anyways.

I ABSOLUTELY agree - however this is why you have spent over 100K on parts - you don't fluck around and I don't blame you. Why do a job 85% when you can fix it correctly. Unfortunately spending about 2K on a trike you never have so much as started isn't fun.

Oh yeah - while I have you..... Hey where the heck is my tire!!!!
