First check for spark. Make sure kill switch isn't off. If there is no spark, then you have a different problem.

Could be that the pilot jet is plugged. Check if there is any smell of gas getting into the cylinder at all or out exhaust. You could try priming the cylinder with a little gas or quick start in the plug hole. If it won't run other than for a moment with the priming, then the carb isn't delivering any or enough gas. You will need to remove the carburetor and clean the idle jet and passages. I do that by soaking the carb in carb cleaner, and removing the idle mixture screw. Use spray carb cleaner or compressed air to make sure you can get flow through all passages, from the jet to the screw, from the screw to the venturi. If you can't get flow, you need to soak and spray, possibly use some fine copper wire up the idle jet passage to unclog it. Old gas dries like shellack.

Before you remove the idle mixture screw, count the number of turns to turn it in and lightly seat it. Remember that count and use it when you reinstall it. It probably was correct before the problem.

Make sure you are using fresh gas. Old gas is less volatile.
