Pretty excited to now have a smoker. Bear with the story please. Been chasin' down a 250 2-stroke a long time & it came about. 86 250r in Kalispell MT, wouldn't answer his add. I posted his add with a WTB in front of it, trying to contact him. A guy shoots me an e-mail that I might be interested in his 250cc. Turns out this guy raced in 85'-88', California. John, He's in pictures somewhere around here on a tecate with orange accents (I told him he was on the net). He has a tecate he started to restore, but no time. He called me this morning and met me halfway. It's a 85' tecate, with 2 axels, 2 motors, 2 sets of fenders, has rebuild kit for forks, and lots of new and extra parts. He even sent me pictures of him racing if I can get them loaded. A tecate in MT is extremely rare (I know of 2). His brother rode this at pismo recently, and brought it to Montana for him. It's all there and then some. I jus' need to sand, polish, and paint (clean-up), and put it together. I'm pretty excited to say the least. Oh yeah, $400.00., it's finally my turn.

You definitely did good. Did you happen to get an KX cylinders on any of the motors. The exhaust port will have a split in it instead of the open kxt exhaust port. If you haven't joined the 84-85 Tecate group on the site, please do so..

I'll have to check dcreel, he gave me 2 motors, & 2 axels, cosmic seat, new bars, bearings, fork rebuild kit. This is gonna be a blast!
