Should I trade?

A guy near me has an 86 200x that's listed for parts, says it will run with new piston/rings. He is looking for 83-85 parts for a trade. My 84 needs quite a bit of work, but runs. It needs forks rebuilt, rear shock rebuilt, front and rear brakes, the timing chain is noisy, and a few odds and ends. Are parts somewhat available for 2nd gen X's? I really like the 86's and are really quite rare in my area. Right now my 84 X has been sitting in my garage for months as I have little interest in restoring it, but the 86 would be a different story. What do you guys think?

I think parts are harder to find for the 86-87 200X but they can be found. It's all directly proportionate to the number of units sold. I don't think you should have any problems finding a piston and rings set though. Check the pro's and con's for each and go from there.
