I have a 84 big red with a new carb i have tryed different jet settings and messed with the air fuel mix, it has not worked. going up hill it misses at about 3/4 to full throttel and on flat land it sputters at full throttel. Ant ideas?

Did you move your clip down on your needle? Carbs are set at sea level & here in Montana elevation plays a big part. I have a simular carb on my 200x and moved my clip to the very bottom actually. I had the same problem. When I met you at the lake I then rode above Gibson resevoir and the bike bogged like yours. It was the 1000ft change in elevation in 1 hrs. time, moved my clip down to last notch and my spark plug went from black to brown & Quit bogging.

i had it on the third notch and i tried lowering it one, but i will try all the way down thanks. Man i seem to run in to you everywere lol and hopefully you will have another 200 to add to your trike family. If i come up this weekend i'll bring the big red and show you what it is doing.

Sounds good, pulled the motor out of Big Red and put in new gaskets on top end had almost all wires hooked up and only have a few motormounts and nuts to tighten left, ran out of time and it got so cold and nasty, when runnin' in and out. Will finish up in next couple of days, want to work more on Tecate. Oh yea, mine was on the third notch too, I accidentally moved it up first, took about 3 weeks to adjust just right.
