problem starting my honda atc

just bought and atc. the guy who sold it to me said it was a 250sx but it has no electric start or reverse gear and it has six gears. once its starts it runs great but if i stall its aproblem to restart. got the carb. cleaned and all and changed the spark plug but kick starting is a mission. need help with advice please.

you could have a 350X on your hands :)
must get piston to Top Dead center of the compression stroke then kick, usually 1 or 2 kicks and she will fire if everything else is ok, which it sounds like it is. There is a slight chance the valves need adjusting.

maybe check the petcock to see fuel flows freely through the line and valve there is a screen are scfeens in the petcock that can clog up on ya. clean the carb and petcock, fresh gas and new plug is where i would start.
