1983 ATC185S PullStart Quick question.....

Hey everyone!! I just got a 1983 atc185S.... But I have a little question to ask... If the pull start is taken off to see the flywheel and stator, will oil leak everywhere? Or is the stator and flywheel in a dry compartment and not dipping in oil... I was told that these were dry and did not dip in oil... I'm asking this because my motor has the pull start taken off, and there is no oil... Please reply!! Thanks! :w00t::) I

Perfectly normal. I have one 200s where the chain smashed a good chunk on the stator housing/flywheel housing. No oil leaks, and the pullstart mounts, so it's fully functional.

You remove the pull start and you can see the flywheel, no oil. You then have to pull the flywheel and can see the stator, still no oil

thank god they arent in oil,as many times as i have taken my pullstart off to rebuild it!

Yeah it's true when you think about it that way.... Mine didn't come with one.... So I have to wind a rope around the pulley...:w00t: Also If anyone has a pullstart laying around and is willing to donate it it would be very appreciated!! Thanks!
