After I had my valves adjusted, my trike has been really hard to start when cold, and I mean REALLY hard. I have to pull or use electric start for 5-10 minutes before it will fire up.

I've put a new brand carb on as well, and still it takes a long time to start. I thought there was something perhaps wrong with the old carb.

Once its warm, it seems to start ok.

Would a bad valve adjust cause this problem?

Yes, my choke is properly adjusted and such.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Valves may be a little to tight . My 87 125m always starts very easy .

They set the valves at 0.002 when they were supposed to set at 0.003, but I did not think it would make that much of a difference.
I will re-set them to 0.003 and see if it makes a difference.
Thanks,

These motors are old and prob a little loose on top so somtimes it doesnt hurt to adjust them a little looser than factory specks .

Make sure you used the write feeler guage/s to set them. I have seen it done before. Sounds like they are too tight. I always knew it was time, when they got harder to crank.
