Trizinger Pull Start Assembly

i just got a tri-zinger last night and the pull started was in pieces. after looking at the diagram, it looks like i have everything, but the way it feels once its pulled is like its missing a washer (tho there are none in the diagram). do i just need to go back in and greese the hell out of it?

also, does any one know that size of the screws that hold the pull starter on? it seems that these are missing, and the yamaha website doesnt have a size.
