I've got a bit of a problem here and thought I'd ask for your feedback on this.

So, I've been looking for forks for my '82 BR for months without any luck. NOS is not available. Re-chroming mine is $500 ($250/leg.. hard chrome). On top of that, I still need new lowers and all the internal parts that go in them. (add another $100 for the lowers and $80 for the guts).

I found this site http://southparkcycle.com/ two weeks ago and filled out the form. A few days later I got an e-mail from them telling me they found my parts. The condition was described as near mint. Almost perfect. Fully functional and ready to bolt on and run.

I told the person that I needed to see pictures of them because, lets face it, we're talking about 28 year old parts here.

I called back a few days later. Still no pictures. I was told the "guys are too busy for that".

What should I do here? Drop $350 (shipped) on a set of forks, (sight unseen!) or just keep looking? I don't have a problem spending that kind of money on them AS LONG AS they need absolutely no other work done to them. That is why I really need to see at least one or two good pictures of them.

Also, has anyone else had any experiance with this site?

i have never dealt with this outfit so i have nothing to say about them good or bad. but in my opinion, i would NEVER buy used parts without a few pics to verify the condition. to most people, (myself included) $350 is not pocket change. if they want to make the sale, they sould be able to take 5 minutes to take 3 pics and email them to you. personally, i would not buy until i get pics.

You would think if they wanted the sale they would takes some pictures. They probably found the set for $200 and are throwing the savings your way. Keep looking..

i would pass. if they wont give you a pic, that seems shady already. i wouldnt even grace them with a reply, other than to tell them you pass.

Looks like it's unanimous. These guys aren't getting a dime outta me until I see some pictures. For some reason, I don't think these people are within 500 miles of the forks. If these forks were out in the yard, I think I could have talked them into sending a picture by now.

These things are horrible to try and locate! They didn't even have a decent set at Sport Wheels in Jordan. Right now I get 5 e-mails/day from e-Bay. They alert me when ever 82 Honda ATC, Honda 200, Honda 200 e forks, or Honda 200 e '82 gets posted there for sale. I do a national search on craigslist a couple times/week. Still nothing. This exact fork was only made for one year.

Ride Red: Tell me about it! I nearlly fell off my chair when they said $350 for them. I'd pay it but they'd darn well better smell new for that price.

Kasey: Yeah, I'm doing a stock restoration. Probably half the parts in it now are NOS. PM sent.

Thorpe: I appreciate the craigslist links you've sent! I check everyone one of 'em. Unfortunately by the time someone parts out their BR, the forks are always long gone.
