Can anyone tell me if the Bolt-on 88cc piston & cylinder kit is worth doing? The kit is roughly $100.00 which I don't think is bad if it makes a difference..

It makes a HUGE difference... I have one with the 88 kit and one without... it's night and day... get it!
Where are you getting it? Can you post a link? I'd like another one!

it does make a noticeable difference but is much better to back it up with a cam and carb.

That's funny, it says "may say 49cc on the head". Mine does say 49cc and I always wondered why... look at getting the cam too, all I know is mine had the kit and cam and it RIPS, ask atctim, he rode it at Snake's and was surprised at the guts it had. When I bought mine, the guy gave me a small box with the original head, piston, and cam in it, all greased and in plastic bags... they're like new!

hey guy's I'm new to the forum and I had a problem with my 88 kit on my 70. MY atc70 which has a new 88 kit and wont start. I checked the plugs and found it to be really black, i guess it's running rich. The spark plug was brand new. i rode the bike maybe for 10 minutes since the changed spark plug. I dont know what could be the issue. Any help is appreciated.

You are way off on jetting if it fouls a plug in 10 minutes....

could that be the problem for sure. If it is how do even go about fixing that?
I thought it may have been the idle but can't adjust it if I cant start it. Tried bumping it in third, it just dies out soon as i gas it. Air/fuel Mixture?
I've had a total engine rebuild, new points, and new 88 kit. my mechanic should have adjusted everything but who knows...

ratrodatc88... sounds like what my brothers was doing but his is all stock except a #62 jet instead of #58 and has a turn down air filter. what ended up fixing the problem was taking the air/fuel mix screw completely out and it runs great!
