View Full Version : 83 honda 200e oil coming out of pull starter
i got picked up an 1983 honda 200e the other day. It will start right up but when you pull start it some oil squirts out of the hole the pull start rope comes out. Any help to what could be wrong?

Someone put oil in it to keep it lubricated. No worries at all, if it's coming off the rope (which it sounds like)

ya its coming off the rope. Oil level is right according to the dipstick.

Perfectly fine. If you ride under water you may want to take it off after and add oil to it again, it's done to prevent parts from rusting in place. No worries at all. It's like spraying on chain lube to your chain.

I would keep an eye on it to make sure your crank seal isn't leaking.
I replaced the oring and the seal... problem solved
