View Full Version : 5 Ft. Cliffs...no good.
I was riding at my local place today with a few buddies. I was going down an off camber hill, I don't have good brakes so i use 1st gear downhill. Well, my SX was flying down this hill so i thought i was in 2nd gear so i downshifted into what i thought would be 1st, here to find out i was already in 1st so i downshifted into neautral, i looked down and seen that green light and was thinkin OH trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro! before i knew it i was going off the trail heading for a cliff that empties off into a creek bed. The cliff is about 5-7ft tall and i nosed dived right into the creek! I'm OK but my trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro hurts real bad and a few bruises and scrapes and a headache. lol. Just thought i would share.

That would be the AMC way also. How deep was the jump? I would have done it
The creek had just a little bit of water, it was a very rocky creek bed, and the drop was somewhere between 5ft-7ft. I had no time to react it just happened so fast, so i took the spill. lol

Next time, fix those stupid brakes!!!!!
The bike survived very well, a bent shifter lever was the worst of the damage, it shoved my handlebars forward a little but i was able to push them back. 250Rmad, good point about the panic mode and 250SX being heavy. TimSr, what fun is it when you have brakes? lol JK, I know I need to fix them! I think maybe a good adjustment and cleaning is needed 1st. Cause I think there is pad left on the shoe. I am very sore today, maybe a bruised rib or 2, and some scrapes and bruises on my back, work was hell today. lol. But I am OK!.

man that sounds so similar to what my big red did in arkansas. same thing i ended up in nutrel some how and i had no brakes, there was a small creek bed in a small drop off. i tried my hardest to pull up and kinda lean back but the front was so heavy it nose dived and kinda went side ways, just one roll over and it planted my right shoulder into the rocks, it is still sore as hell. and this was a good 2 months ago. i hadn't ridden the big red since, just the 350x. i like disc brake WAY better! i busted up more then a few things on mine. glad to hear not to much happened to you or your trike. i agree with everyone now, you just need brakes. lol :-D
