just bought my son a little '77 Honda 90...need some advice with it...I got it running and it did ok up to about 1/4-1/2 throttle and then would cut out and sputter (no power past half throttle)...took the carb apart and cleaned it up good...all passageways are open...getting gas into the bowl...now it won't start...getting excellent spark...I even
sprayed a little starting fluid where the air intake is and it won't even fire...any ideas? I blew air through
every single opening in the carb, including the large and small jets...Do I need to adjust the little clip on the
needle one way or the other? I turned the gas screw on the outside out 1 1/2 turns and kept going out 1/2 turn each time and nothing...If I'm getting spark, I'm assuming the points and the little jobby under inside the frame are ok...
Just dumb founded, please help me out...Thank you!

Change the pionts and a new plug and I bet it will run . Points act like that even if they look good .

I kinda wondered that but it was starting up just fine before I took that carb off...I do have a parts wheeler so I'll try swapping them out tomorrow...I figured if the points were bad it wouldn't have spark tho...maybe I'm looking at it reverse? points to little thingie inside the frame, little thingie inside the frame to the plug wire...I do have spark...So does this eliminate the points if I have spark? Took the cover off and they looked clean and stuff but I know what you're sayin'...the plug is only about a week old...I'll try it tho, worse case only takes a minute to swap the points out...Thanks man!
