A simple zip tie can stop that method, however as some of us know if someone wants in bad enough there gonna get in. But these type of video's just give more kids and idiots ammo, those that didn't know about it now do and i'm sure are trying it.
im a big fan of the ram the door method, it means business and not to try and stop me. lol
all the more reasons not to put windows on the garage

Smith and Wesson??? First, I would adjust my door properly! The tracks are too far from the weather strip....

Locks are only for honest people.
That has always been my theory on locks,...just keeps the people on the fence right there on that fence. If someone wants in, they will get in one way or another. Hopefully that dont happen here while im home, if I miss with the shotgun, chances are the pitbull will have better aim with a big mouth of chompers.

The makers of this video should be questioned by the local authorities. Normal people dont go around making videos about breaking into garages.

Most houses and garages are made of wood with vinyl siding. A simple utility knife is all you need to cut right through the wall.

With warrant-less searches now a reality, most houses and locks were never really designed to stop the entry of anyone with the proper knowledge.
They're just there to give those who believe in them the illusion of safety and security.

locks are useless. and piss on auto-garage doors. we drilled holes into our shop garage door track to put padlocks through to keep the door from going up, and we park a car in front of the door every night. nothing is foolproof.....it is easy as trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro to kick a locked and deadbolted door in.....done it before. if someone wants your trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro...there gonna get it. can only hope you catch em in the act and can use S&W to stop em DEAD in their tracks.

Yeah locks, can be broken in seconds. I know I wouldn't hear it, my 5 dogs would. Then watch out :D I have a disc brake alarm for my bike, but that doesn't help the rest of my tools and parts. I can hear that, and I have a nice boomstick waiting.
I've had some one try to break in twice. The bottom of the door was kicked in, but thank god not enough to crawl in because there was junk blocking the door haha. Now the door is messed up so we lock it on the tracks, and it's even better.

I agree with you on the garage door openers....I removed mine...it's a slight inconvenience for me to have to go through the house to open the garage door from inside, but I know that if someone wants in my garage, they will have to put a vehicle through it...but I feel that seeing no handle on the outside of my door will just avert their focus to another house.
It is easy to kick in a deadbolted door, HOWEVER, it's really quite simple to add some reinforcements/mods that will make it impossible to kick in or force in with only a human body as the tool. You just have to have a plan "B" for the time that you lose your own key because breaking in is not an option anymore(cheaper to call a locksmith than to repair a lot of damage to house).

my plan B for a locked out house is a extra key in the car, with a car key that only opens the doors hidden on the car somewhere.
as for houses....many new houses are prefab cardboard/beaverboard exterior walls with vinyl siding.....might as well not even be a wall there.

We have 2 large motion sensor flood lamps above both of our garage doors. If they are going to do it at night they'll be in the spotlight when they do it.

lights wont stop them when your sleeping the lights go on alot from animals. It might stop them for the night but they will be back.
only way is a alarm system and don't hook up the siren they will think they are getting away with it then the cops show up. I remember a alarm system my father had in a garage he rented
it had a big bell in it. and it was loud you could hear it a block away. he never hooked up the key to disarm it. so soon as he opened the door you had to run to turn it off.
