Starter only clicks - Big Red 1986 - whats up

Hey guys, I have a 86 Big Red starter only clicks even with a new battery. Is there something simple hear im missing. Thought Id tap your minds before taking things apart. A fuse, rela- etc... Thanks!

try lightly tapping on the starter.

I had one where the power cable wasn't making good contact where it bolts to the starter the nut was tight but it wasn't good enough so it just clicked. Try jiggling the wire while you hit the starter. Something simple to try maybe you will get lucky.

the brushes are probably wicked dirty in the starter case...
