hey guys replaced the carb on my atc 200 thinking that was the problem.. starts right up and idles great but once ya give it gas it just wont it alsmost just bogs .. could it have jumped the timing ?? it seems to be blowing a mist of gas out the carb into the intake witch makes me think its the timing ... any thoughts?

By the time you log on, and post here, you could have already checked the timing, and adjusted it! It deffinatly could be a timing issue. Also, did you check the jets when you put the carb on? If not the timing, make sure the jets are the right size, the jet needle clip in the 3rd (middle) position on the slide end, and make sure there are no air leaks, especially from the intake manifold, such as cracks, or bad o-ring on either side. Good luck!

its not the carb , i has the jets replaced to the correct specs.. and then put another carb and did the exact same thing with the other carb , leading me to think timing related.. how to you adjust the timing on them exactly ?

it could be a week stator coil, or it could be something to do with the CDI.... thats whats behind the cover on the cylinder head....or make sure the choke isnt stuck open too and make sure that theres no leaks around the carb boots too...if the bike jumped its timing it should be backfiring... is it doing that?....was it a new carb or another carb off a used one... if its used the carb might need to be cleaned, then it shouldnt spit gas back into the airbox.... hope this helps..

Took the cdi apart today.... looked like moisture got in there from sitting all thoes years , the springs where all seized and the whole mechanism wasnt opening so i cleaned it up and got it working ... but one of the springs was so badly rusted it broke ! where can i get springs for that ?
