OK , WHERE TO BEGIN? 2010 trikefest , started off an hour late getting to the airport., running like a chicken with our heads cut off to clear security. AHHHH relief ,,,the pilot knew we were going to trikefest so he waited!! well you should know,,,, helmets don't fit in the overhead without a large dang to snap them in,,, flight attendent was "WHAT WAS THAT?" OH JUST A HELMET !!! LOL. sat down to a 4 hour flight smooth right? lol NOT HARDLY the munchkin lady setting next to us got caught smoking in the bathroom!!! she denied it but smelled just like an old snuffed out butt!!! great. well off we get in Detroit gate 19 ,, 30 minute layover ahead of us... so we decied to walk to gate 65???? oh helll no, its a friggen 1/2 mile.. we climb the stairs to the shuttle, well mike practically throws his bag in to get the doors to open back up... we made it. well the short flight to Indianapolis was easy and uneventful ... SO CURTIS WAS RIGHT ON CUE TO PICK US UP!! AND OFF TO HASPIN WE GO.
the green was very cool as we have lost the vision of that living in the desert southwest. an hour and a half later we drop in on haspin acres! first glance, well it looks like trails and mud! cool for a couple of sand rats!! different but fun, so at this point i will say we are going to have some fun, i like trails and mud just haven't done it in a while. my plan to meet and greet all the peoiple i have talked with on the board for years,, putting a face to the name, since i have a good size group that have been to my side it was great to see the future sandrats again,, those people know who they are,,, so on to the highlights for me...
i had a chance to do a little work on the track,, i smoothed out a few jumps to make them more trike friendly , added a few corners to make it more fun,, thanks PETE ,, for letting me run the dozer it was a great time for me .
the races are fun even though we didn't have much damp material to work with,, . so i am watching and enjoying ,someone grabs me and needs me to cover for them in the senior race!!! , i said i wasn't going to do any racing,,, but what the hell!!! IT WAS GREAT,, THANKS RICK!!!
i found some real cool fossils they look like teeth,, and they are 3 inches long ,, totally petrified too.
the people: wow the people i can't name them all ,,, but as i said earlier they know who they are,, made my adventure a real blast,,
i hope my preaching of sand didn't get old,, but i am as excited to get more people to the sand as they were to get me to the mud, i think i figured i got about 16 hours of sleep from wednesday morning to sunday morning, lessthan 4 hours a day for sure, i would do it again tomorrow !!!!!
the flights home were pretty quiet we slept almost all the way ,, i did fall in love with the flight attendant from indy to phoenix though!!! wow fantastic lady! thanks SANDY ,, you made the flight home a pleasure!!!
