So today I spent some time trying to get some rear brakes. :(
First the cover wouldnt come off the reservoir. Still Havn't got that off so I took the bottle off and just kept the line full. Tried bleeding several times and finally got fluid coming out the bleed screw. I know the procedure, pump a few times and hold and crack the bleed screw. But I have tried three calipers that I have and the pistons must be seized in them all.

Does anyone on the site rebuild calipers? Can I get a rebuild kit from Honda and do it myself? I believe I am capable of it. lol.

And the park brake....:wondering The little shaft must be operated by a worm gear setup, or grabber or something. Its mighty rusty and I cant tell. All I know is that the piece with the cable unbolts, and theres a short shaft on the caliper and in the other piece. But once again it is mighty rusty so to see how it works is unclear.

Anyone?

They are probably harder to do CORRECTLY than a new topend...

I rebuilt BRRACUDA's rear caliper and it was a beyatch. Took about 4 hours including sandblasting which was mostly done to get the parking brake free but he blocked it off anyhow. The slide pins seize, the pistons won't come out; Over the years I have found ways to deal with them without destroying them.

Apparently there are some year CR250 or 500R front calipers that have plastic pistons that work great. The stock pistons if they aren't too bad and no one put Channel Locks or Vice Grips on them, can be cleaned up in a lathe with WD-40 and some 600 grit emery cloth.

I can rebuild calipers like new but each one needs different parts to repair them.... The parts aren't very expensive, that labor can add up but I was very fair to Paul and always fair to everyone, I don't watch the clock......

Thxs for the reply DC, I got them all soaking in a bucket of lube right now but if I can't make any sense outta them, if you would, I could send them to you for rebuild. I have little patience for them, and I am only working on them because my father stopped by today and gave me a hard time about them. lol. He said you helped me rebuild my 67 Mustang and you almost got your 78 Blazer rebuilt, its only a brake caliper. lol. I may be in touch.
