Hey yall, new to the forum here and just got my first trike! I am only 19 so I missed the whole three wheeler age lol. Anyways, a friend of mine was moving recently and he had a 1985 Honda atc 110 sitting out back and he said to take it if I wanted it. So, i loaded her up and brought her to the house, pulled the carb apart, cleaned it overnight in some chem dip, then moved on the gas tank. It was rusty so I sprayed some phosphoric acid in there and let it sit. After I cleaned all the tank and carb, and slapped them back on the trike and she fired right up  Now I seem to has some carb issues. At first I was having trouble with it bogging down when I punched the throttle but I adjusted the pilot screw out about 2 1/4 turns and she seems to be running fine. But, after it heats up it has a tendancy to want to quit on me. My question is, am I burning rich or lean? The manual says to set the pilot screw at 1 and 1/4 and slowly turn in until the engine shuts off, but when I do the screw eventually sets and the thing wont quit :wondering I need some direction here, any help is a appreaciated

put your pilot back to factory spec.it is running rich and over heating.

Alrighty, kinda hard to keep it from heatin up right now though, I live in Florida lol. Also, which way does the pilot screw adjust, in for leaner, out for richer? The manual has me to believe that in is leaner but I have read that it is the other way around, I am confused.....I also dont have a air filter over the interior metal filter, would that have a bearing on how much air it intakes which could throw off the factory settings on mixture?
