:(I just bought my first trike two weeks ago and am now faced with an electric start issue. The battery was weak when first purchased as indicated by a clicking noise in the starter motor. After charging the battery, the electric start worked great. Now I get nothing when I depress the starter button. Both fuses are good. Does this sound like a common problem? The lights all work; headlight, tailight, neutral/reverse indicator. The lights do not dim when the button is depressed. The lights come on and are very bright when the key is turned on. Also the trike starts fine with the pull start. Any help any one could give would be great.

It very well could be the electric "start" button itself. I had to replace mine with a new one because I had to press real hard for it to start. You might just need take apart the button and clean it.

I took the button off and it looks good, clean with a strong spring. I put the test light on both sides of it and get nothing? Thanks for trying!

The test light should light up on the start button wire when the key switch is on and it could also be the neautral safety switch., trace the wires down you have a disconnection in your wiring, you will need to remove the headight to get to the wires. There may be a wire that is unpugged.

The neutral light illuminates as it should. Looking at the wiring diagram, there is only one wire coming form the switch. I can only assume it's good. Also this trike has had a 1985 250es front end put on at some time in its life. The wires are all in the removeable headlight cord storage cup. I know, pretty hoakey!
