Ok, like the title sez, I have an unknown 80's Honda Quad, that may be a TRX 200, that I got as an almost freebie when I bought my 200s. This thing is almost a basket, but I have it running pretty good, and I may just be crazy enough to fix it up.... The quad is shaft drive, has front and rear suspension, hydraulic front brakes/manual rear all drum, electric start (may be a conversion, has pull start and compression release too) It also has hi/lo/reverse, controlled by a little stick on the left side. The cover for it says "reverse shaft" and it looks like it could be a conversion too. The problem I am having is that in Hi Range if u gun it at all, it slips like crazy, but it works fine in Lo, and in Reverse. If I hold the little stick just right I can get it not to slip. I have tried to tighten the end nut on the shifter, but it didn't help. The main transmission/clutch seems fine, but I can barely get it to wheelie, (lo range) but that may be weight/lack of power too, as it doesn't seem like slippage.
I have alot of experience with street bikes, and cars. I know how engines and mechanical things work. I have been on forums since they were called Bulletin Boards, and 64 MEGS of ram was more than anyone would ever need. I am not trying to sound like a know it all, I just know how forums view newbs, and I am just a guy needing some help as I get into a new hobby.
Thank you.
p.s. I am looking for a parts, or a parts quad for this thing, I live in Western Oregon, kinda near Eugene.

well, we really need PICS to tell you what it is. i owned a 1986 trx200sx and it had a 5 speed with reverse (no low/hi), so its not that. if you can get pics or atleast find pics like it on google and post them here then i could tell ya what it is.

Im guessing 1984 honda trx 200......trx 250 had kick start and trx 200sx had no high low.

K, I will post some pics.... it will have to be tomorrow, and I am on 24k dialup, so it may be kinda trimmed down size wise.... thank you all for your replies. Anyone on the slippage on the hi? I am wondering if I should take it apart and try to adjust something?
