Very nice Zane !
I am just confused as to why West coast did not incorporate a chain slider on their swing arms ?
Did I miss something over the years of postings about west coast,,, they did not have anything to put on there did they ?
Zane, I have a local gal that copied/digitized the 84 tank decals and the "250" side decal for me. She charges 35-40 dollars a set if that is of any help. If you want I will pm you her phone #.
I had to redcoat my tank so the after market decals did not bubble off. I thought I had some close up pics on fle but if I do, i can't locate them ,,,

Westcoast never did have a chain slide for the 84 Tecate. I actully purchached a Westcoast brand new when I was a teen. Wish I kept that bike now :(.. Anyways I road the crap out of the bike and all it did was make two lines into the the westcoast swingarm, just like the old pic I shown. The damage is not bad and can be fixed with a tig when needed.
I'm looking for the complete sticker set, but I'll keep you in mind just in case.
FYI,
The 84/85 Tecate Westcoast swingarm uses 250R Honda bearings! I remember reading this in the instruction way back then. I installed new Honda bearings and they fit perfect.

The westcoast swingarm uses a stock Tecate chain slide. Running a swingarm without one is a real bad idea..
There is no screw holes for the stock slide.

Put it on there and use a zip tie through the top and bottom slide holes, that and the hole at the front of the swingarm keep it in place. In the before pic of the front of the swingarm you can see the line of dirt down the swingarm where the Tecate chain slider was sitting, and the rub marks where it took off the paint on the edge of the swingarm. Metal on metal contact is never a good idea. That chain with no slider would eat right through the front of the swingarm in no time.

Now all's ya need is a KEWL Stainless Pivot Bolt !! :naughty:
Too bad I cant buy a new OEM chain slide. At least I'm not going to pay 80 bucks for one on ebay. Unless someone here is hording a few of them? Anyways my first Tecate I rode it for years and the chain did not eat into the swinger any farther than the ones in the picture. The one in the picture did have a slide on it but was fully eaten throe the rubber and the slide was hanging half way off of it.

yeah, the stock O.E.M. ones are more of a after thought since the Westcoast did not have any provisions to properly mount them up.
I just sold off the last of my reproduction 84/85 sliders to one fella (who I guess is a board member ? ) for his Westcoast swinger. 2 of those 3 was the "HARD" composit I made up that don't conform to the stock swing arm because of virtually no bend but from the pics he sent, work great on the straight Westcoast.
He did a nice job of making a "fastening" way of holding the 2 mounting tabs on w/o welding tabs on but still,,,, what the heck was they (not) thinking ,,,, Christ they done such a beautiful job in design excepting for that one detail.
If I could figure out how to get pictures from e-mail to here,,,, well i can't for now.

Okay, I definitely believe in the freedom of choice. Do what you do, it's yours after all.
I am looking for some sort of chain slide to fit the swinger. I allready filled in the grooves from the picture with my tig and grided it smooth. Looks brand new and you cant tell the diffrence. I will be checking and repairing again if needed. I was thinking about welding on a slide mount like the 86 T3 but found out those slides are also out of stock.

Motodecals can make just about any stickers you want if you can show them pictures of it or they might already have the template for the tecate. Look at their website

Does anybody know what year(s) 250R bearings will work in the Westcoast Tecate swingarms? I get the idea that they are different sizes the way they are listed on eBay...
Thanks in Advance Guys...
