What is the difference on the swingarm from an 85- an 86 350x?? also for the triple trees?? i looked on servicehonda and the part numbers are not the same. even though they r not the same would they still work each other?? please let me know. thanks.

They had different brakes, that's why the swingers were different. The '85 had a brake linkage that required a long stud on the right side of the swinger. The '86 carrier was re-designed as well. As for the triples, aside from the '86 having a black top and the '85 having both top and bottom raw aluminum, I don't see a difference. I think the '86 parts are superior, alot of people upgrade to them.

Ok thanks. So u r saying that the 85 swingarm will not work on an 86 because the brakes won't mount up and the bearing carrier will not fit??? Or will the carrier fit it's just a different design like on the side where u rotate it to tighten the chain.

You could put an entire '85 swinger on an '86(brakes and all), and you can use the carrier too, but you need the '86 sprocket bolts to use an '86 carrier. Yes, they are a different design but will work.
