Tried doing a search and came up with nothing. A friend of mine is getting a 96 KX500 in a few days and I'm wondering how hard it is to convert it to a 3 wheeler. I'm talking about using the frame from the bike. I know it's been done because I've seen them on here before. If I remember correctly, it is a fairly easy conversion. I'm thinking someone posted that the swing arm and front forks bolt right in ? Would someone who has done this please chime in ? Thanks....

To the best of my knowledge, a bike to trike conversion is never easy. The rake must be corrected in the front, the engine cradle is sometimes too low, and the frame is usually too tall and thin. Not to mention the issues with making plastics work on it. Not the best way to go about it IMHO.

The rake and frame I'm aware of, and brackets can be added to the frame for the fenders. This is going to be a drag bike so it only needs to go in a straight line. He was just wondering how hard it would be to put a swinger and forks on before he buys it. Guess he'll just have to call the guy and get some measurements.....thanks for the response.

The 86 tecate frame is what most people put a kx500 in most things switch pretty easy form what I understand. There are at least 3 people on here who have build threads on a kx500 trike.

why not just make the kx 500 motor fit into the trike frame? custom mounts and such seem alot eaiser than custom making everything to use the dirtbike frame.
