I need to replace the fork seals in my 1983 Yamaha YTM 200. The manual says to take the top off, the spring out, and turn them upside down and use an impact to remove the allen bolt in the bottom of the fork. There is no allen bolt in the bottom of my forks.
Have any of you run into this before and if so, what did you do to replace the seals?
Thanks,
Dave

That's for the ERN and 225.
Try this manual.

Thank you for the post. After I posted my initial question I started looking for OEM manuals and found that one. It says "the fork tube on these models requires a press and special tools for complete disassembly and reassembly". '
Have you ever taken them apart yourself? I really don't want to take it to my local dealer.
Thanks again

The Clymer manual states that.
The service manual I linked to above, shows the procedure, starting on 5-8.

Get a Lisle seal puller (part number 56920). It was only $9 bucks and makes pulling seals so quick and easy I wish I had bought this years ago.

I thought about something like that. Unfortunatley the rubber boot that covers the seals had a hole in it and let water in. 27 years of moisture has really rusted the area around the seal and I know it will be difficult to get out.
Thanks for the help.
