i bought the wheeler a couple weeks ago for the family and has ran perfect until saturday night. i was running wide open down the trail with it when all of a sudden it lost power. i pulled over and shut it down and let it cool for awhile and fired it up and took off and it just bogged. i limped it to a freinds house and changed the plug, pulled the carb apart and removed the main and pilot jet and sprayed everything down with carb cleaner. still wouldnt run right so i checked spark and it seemed fine. i put a timing light on it and it seemed to be firing consistently all through the rpm range. i swapped out the coil and cdi with good used ones and still wouldnt run right. so i pulled the head off and pulled the valves and the seats and valves looked fine along with the springs. i pulled the cylinder off and the rings, piston and cylinder bore looked almost perfect. now i dont know where to go from here. one question i have is since it is the "E" model and it dont have a battery in it could i have burned something out in the magneto? (i ran it for the first time with the lights on that night). would it idle if the cam chain jumped a tooth? any ideas, suggestions, and flaming is welcome. :wondering

i woulds guessed bad rings or blown out head gasket . but if the cam chain jumps a link it will still run but not rite and that depends how bad it jumps. ive jumped many of em lol i learned the hard way.

not head gasket, the cam chain tensioners were pretty wore out but i never checked the tension of the chain when i pulled it apart. i got a new gasket set coming and ill order a new cam chain tonight. im going to check the ring gap tommorrow after work and see if i have to order new rings also.
