I have discovered that the gas cap on my BR is plugged. Can these things be serviced? The dealer wants $80.00 for a new one:crazy: I even thought of trying to drill it out? Any suggestions; or would someone like to part with one for a good price? PM me if interested.

The dude that sold me my 85' said he did that, but it looks like all the others to me. I guess it screws up the trike pretty bad. Kick the tires, that usually fixes em'. (lol, get it?!)

I'll try the carb cleaner first; if no luck, then out comes the drill. Riding around with the cap loose sucks!

DO NOT RIDE WITH GAS CAP LOOSE!! I did this and the cap came off was a nice trip to the ER for chemical burns. I couldnt go to work for 2 weeks and ended up loosing my job. deffenently not worth it.

How do you get chemical burns from gas? I'm curious because i always have gas and stuff on my hands and i get carb cleaner and stuff in my eyes a good bit but Ive never gotten a chemical burn. :wondering

i never had a problem with stuff like that either until that day. Trike wouldnt run for crap so my friend loosened the cap to ride it. i rode it around like that for awhile no problem that day but it worked loose and came off when i was climbing a creek bank and i took a huge wave of gas right on me and instantly it started burning my skin and it turned red as a lobster! Burned my legs so bad through my jeans the skin was starring to peel in spots. Very painful PLEASE PLEASE do NOT ride with cap loose. If i can stop one guy from having that happen to them its worth it.

My cap was doing the same thing. I soaked it in a bath of clean varsol overnight then blew it out with a compressor now it works again. No more big "Whoosh" when I open it.

My buddy's BR burned like that going up a huge hill.
We aren't sure if it really was a loose gas cap or just leaking but one things is sure, everything melted lol
