View Full Version : What CR piston for 350x without hardened rockers or race fuel?

I am looking to replace my piston (bore it over, don't trust current gap) on my 350x. Don't want to replace the rings then have them start to fail after a few uses....besides it gives me an excuse for a higher CR piston.

I do not want to spend the cash on hardwelded rockers, stronger valve springs, new valves, race gas. I will run premium pump gas or AV gas if necessary.

Should I go 11:1 or 12:1? Don't want it too hard to kick over as everyone uses my bikes (even with decompresssion cable adjusted, I fear the 12:1 may be too much?)

Thanks

CR has nothing to do with needing HD springs or hardened rockers but to stay safe on pump gas the easiest thing is to get a 10.25-1 piston.

edit....at first glance I thought you wanted to put a CR 2 stroke piston in a 350x....lol

^ Me too

Just get a 10.25:1 piston, fresh hone and rings - bore if needed.

A nice midrange hardfaced cam would be great, thats when you need the hard faced rockers and the price goes up another 200-250$.......

Gunna be a 10.25:1 or 11:1, any particular reason to opt for the lower one? Maybe can use regular pump gas?

10.25:1 and 93 octane play it safe
