i want to see how much it would be to rebuild the front end on my 86 200x. all parts there but i suspect need to be rebuilt. i don't know anything bout shocks and stuff but may need to be straightned? im only saying tht cuz ive read posts where people do tht when rebuilding shocks and stuff....any suggestions on any reputable person who does it and how much it would cost? thanks

It's not expensive, maybe 75$ in parts for all seals, clips, bushings. Then fork oil and the worst part is breaking them down and cleaning all the guts.

I'd do them myself with a Service Manual if I were you and don't order parts until you get them apart and see whats worn.

Almost 90% of all 200X forks are bent, right below the lower triple clamp, that wears the teflon off of the bushing.

I use all OEM parts when I rebuild them and new fork boots too; But, yours are discontinued so you have to go AM for the boots..............

You do need special tools to get the new seals in and the old ones out and sometimes an impact gun to get the lower bolt out.

Forks are twice as easy as a rear shock...................

Service Honda for parts.

Couple hours to rebuild. If your mechanically inclined, have a ball.

Most people don't have the large c-clip pliers or the seal and bushing drivers..........

Just did a set of 86/87 200X forks last week.
